A couple of hundred miles to Birkinhead, leave the car there, then boat to Belfast. You can get a cabin if you're worried but the boats aren't busy so unlikely to be needed. Face coverings are compulsory. It's normally £20ish for a foot passenger, but they're removed the cheap fares so it's £32 / £40 (day/night) - at least that's what I paid for my daughter who is getting the boat tonight.

Has anyone heard any update on the IFA request to UEFA to restore the Norway away match to its original date?

My biggest worry would be spending up to two hours making my way through the queues and searches etc in a busy airport, then sitting in a confined metal tube for three hours, surrounded by potential virus carriers whose every cough and splutter gets circulated by the aircon. Then repeating it on the way back a few days later. Unfortunately all our forthcoming away games are a bit too far for me to drive in my own car under the Channel via Eurotunnel. And I can't even see myself taking in the home games, either, for the same reason.

Two of us booked flights (Ryanair from Dublin) and accommodation, intend going, whether we get in or not (very unlikely). Only thing that would stop us would be quarantine/FCO advice.

It's looking much better now the quarantine restrictions have been lifted. We're flying in and out of Dublin too so maybe that might work in our favour for coming back? Travel insurance though is still my biggest worry as I'd never travel anywhere without it. Just have to wait and see

I believe Romania has lifted the restrictions now but still not the same coming in the other direction to the UK, only thing is our lot are going via Dublin so I think we are good although a lot can happen in the next 8-9 weeks?

I have flights booked too but the Foreign Office advice is not to travel, so it won't be possible to get insurance and Romania entry requirements state - All travellers arriving in Romania from any country of origin, including the UK, must self-isolate for 14 days. Self-isolation is rigorously enforced. Unless the quarantine restrictions get lifted before September then there is little point in going.

    Romania game

Alright chaps, so looks like we may not be allowed fans at this game but lots are still booked for it so who still intends to go, we have 8 still going for a bit of craic and watch the game in a bar etc, its cheap as chips anyway, only thing that will stop it is if the airlines don't fly by then?

UEFA medical official warns international matches will have to be played behind closed doors A senior UEFA medical official has warned that international matches due to be played this year, including autumn games in the Nations League, may have to be played behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Tim Meyer, head of UEFA's Medical Commission, has issued a warning over stadiums being opened to the public. "There has been no verdict on spectator participation in the matches yet. However, it looks like there will be no competitions under UEFA's patronage with people in the stands this year. It would be too much of a risk," Meyer told a German news agency. "The situation for international football is much more complicated than for the national leagues," he said. "For a final tournament that takes place in one country, this can be organised relatively well. "But when all 55 UEFA nations start with international matches and the Nations League in September, there will be other levels of difficulty, such as national legislation or laboratory availability. That will be far more complex at UEFA level." Nations League Draw.. (3/3/20)

I suppose they must have wanted to keep the games in the same order (ie we still play Austria at home before we play Norway away).

    Nations League Draw.. (3/3/20)

I guess there will be World Cup Qualifiers in March? There is usually an international window in June as well which will be lost next year because of the Euros so they will need to make use of any date that they can at the minute! There is no reason for them to have moved the matches the way they have - just play Austria at home on 14th October, and play the final on 11th November, leaving Austria away where it was (although other teams in the final may have had matches scheduled for 12th/13th so I guess UEFA need to consider them)

    Nations League Draw.. (3/3/20)

Has UEFA provided an explanation as to why the playoffs couldn't be played next March? Surely this would be the most sensible time and allows the same lead time for the winners to prepare for the finals. Setting aside the issue of stadiums being open for fans, rescheduling these matches (which were announced by UEFA before the lockdown) has simply ignored the travel consequences for all fans. Having lost out on the original trip to Bosnia for understandable reasons, UEFA now expect that these changes to their published fixtures are necessary. Why?

I'm lucky we only booked Romania as we were also looking at Vienna. Lined up a plan for getting to Bosnia instead now just need to get the fans allowed it

I don't think UEFA have confirmed the new dates. They almost certainly will be as stated however the IFA are far quicker off the mark than most other football associations.

Thanks! I hadn't seen that, had only checked the official fixture listings on their website, which weren't yet updated.

Cheers for that, Chris. Meanwhile, as of 11 pm tonight, the IFA still haven't loaded the revised match dates onto their (award-winning) official site: Bloody Useless

It couldn't hurt to talk to the airline(s). They might change your flights. Nothing venture and all that.
