Boyce was injured and couldn't play, its now been confirmed as well that Grigg is probably out of the Bosnia game after his injury tonight, so you might be seeing Vassell on Monday night. Thats a very harsh judgement on Vassell based on 15 minutes.

100% agree, a complete waste of time, we have little attacking threat playing this way, if MON wants the 3 in the middle of the pitch, then play a 3-5-2 with McNair as a right sided cb, Dallas wide on the right and with Lewis wide on the left, that allows you to play Grigg + 1 Other.

The comments from Michael don't sound great, if it were a serious personal issue, i doubt Michael would be saying "I will address this situation after the international period"

    Republic of Ireland (A) - Nov 15

I was planning to go but at €45 a ticket for a friendly, they can shove it.

The parts in bold are simply ridiculous, i really don't think you have been watching us from the Kingsley Black days and all that we have went through since then, if you want rid of Michael O'Neill, utter madness.

Bosnia. And Herzegovina too. What are they like?

I think they need to be very careful with the prices they are charging, they have pretty much hit the limit now in terms of what people are prepared to pay for games.

The furore over Declan Rice proves beyond any doubt that Nations League games are competitive games, so once you are capped in these games you are tied to that country another reason why the two players you have mentioned need to be capped against Bosnia.

Will Sinn Fein pay the massive fine the IFA will get from UEFA for not playing a mandated friendly??

    Central America tour

And that is all of our first choice midfield now missing, Thompson and Whyte should get plenty of game time now. Interestingly our squad is now made up of 20 NI born players and 2 English born, it is a very long time from we had a squad made up like that.

    No Jamal Lewis, thats surprising.

Its just a pity the IFA wouldn't let people know this via their social media accounts, lots of us are interested in the squad announcements.

    Central America tour

The Belfast Telegraph in their story about Gavin Whyte last week said the squad would be announced today, it looks like they were chatting s***e again.

    Central America tour

I would expect at the very least Smyth, Peacock-Farrell and Lewis in the squad, we have no clue yet how many senior players will be missing, as well as the two you have mentioned, i think McLaughlin and Saville are injured as well, we also have the possibility of Norwood & Magennis being in the playoff finals, so that would be them out of the tour as well. I am really hoping that there is a surprise name or two in the squad.

    Central America tour

Norwood and big Josh both involved in the playoffs, if either/both of them make their respective playoff finals that would rule them out of the tour.

The 19:45 kick off time is the default time on the IFA website when any fixture is announced, it will be changed when the kick off time is confirmed.

Its the modern way of playing football, your two centre backs split, your fullbacks push up to near the half way line and your deepest lying midfielder drops in between the two centre backs to pick up possession and start your attack, the idea is create triangles which should give the player in possession two options for a pass and make it easier to move the ball around, but it requires players to be good on the ball and be brave with it something which isn't our strong point bar the likes of Saville and Davis.

The one thing that needs to be taken into account with Lewis is that he is a converted winger, his entire youth career was spent playing as a left winger, it has only been in this last year or so that he has been switched to a full back/wing back role at Norwich so the defensive side of his game is going to be a work in progress, at Norwich they sometimes play him as a left back in a back four and others times he plays as a wing back with 3 centre backs.

    South Korea

A fantastic result, they were as you would expect technically excellent and did cut through us at times only to be denied by grea last ditch tackling or blocks. That result need to be put in perspective, our starting eleven today included a goalkeeper making his international debut, a centre back who hasn't played very much over the last few months for a team that is badly struggling, a left back making his international debut who has played a total of 16 professional games, a left winger making his starting debut for NI, a midfielder who has spent the last few months on the bench at Fulham, another who was making only his 2nd international apperance, when you take all these things into account it really was an exceptional result.
