Been going since '75 and unless dementia has set in I cannot ever recall him getting abuse (over and above the abuse that ever player takes/took when he had a bad game) - seems to have joined in the 'offended brigade' unfortunately with those comments.

I remember Real Madrid using Carton House one pre-season when we were heading down to play golf so the facilities must be top notch (more than could be said about my golf!).

I'm going so that's one for a start!!

Christ, you're right Mark - my head really is starting to go!! Two sh*tholes mind you separated by a bridge.

No Axe, I mean the not very aptly named 'Friendly Way' in the Strand itself - not sure if a lot of the folk murdered there would call it that. I know Cluan Place - sure it's got more peelers at it each Twelfth than are chasing a few folk in Ards at the minute (and that's saying something!!).

Individual buses going from all parts Jim so it may be hard to police and the last thing we need is a repeat of the hotel shambles in Basel when everyone turns up at the same time to collect tickets - the Austria game on the Sunday will be over let alone the game than night by the time they have it sorted.

You'll have enough to worry you on that train than panicking about picking up tickets!! Does seem a weird choice I have to say (and I relented and I'm now going as there's a bus going from and returning to Ards when I really thought it would be an escorted bus convoy type of day out).

You weren't born in FRIENDLY WAY in the 'Strand' by chance Axe (the most ironically named street in the world).

Yes, the crack was good that day JQ (apart from all the Bluemen in the bar obviously!!).

A wee bit of nostalgia never hurt anyone 'FU' ?

I remember it very well EG (unfortunately).

Forgot about that EG, everything should be 'rosy in the garden' then!!

Good luck with that JQ. Remember heading down to one of the games down there by train and I'm sure we were nearly the only two N Ireland supporters on it - you'll find a 'lovely' bunch getting on at what was Central Station when the dregs of the Markets and the Short Strand empty and pile onto the train (don't have your colours in view on the way down unless you want to suffer two hours of torment).

Cracking place by the way if you are going Richard with the longest street of bars in any town/city in Holland - thoroughly enjoyed it although my record of two defeats and one draw in three visits should say to the contrary!!

I think the English teams have learned their lesson Richard. Me and Alan ordered tickets for our game in Athens in 2001 but never had any intention of going and then the game was cancelled due to 'September 11' the day before however United (in a benevolent move not like them) send everyone who had applied for tickets £150 for any inconvenience caused by cancelled flights, trains etc - I was happy enough to accept it and it paid for our tickets for the rest of the campaign ?

    Post Mortem

You mean like Roy Carroll's save from the halfway line at Old Trafford for example ?

Of course there are and if it turns out that there is a very logical excuse (I think the wife is up the duff) then fair enough but it's the lateness of it that doesn't seem right. I don't watch Scottish football but did he even play on Sunday and if so did he go off injured?

Thought the same myself especially with it being such a late cry-off but I suppose after the usual rumours/nonsense in the media we'll find out soon enough.

    Israel (H) friendly - Sept 11

He would be in my starting eleven all day long.

    Israel (H) friendly - Sept 11

Decent enough performance I have to say especially for a friendly (and when you think of the nadir of the Canada debacle it has to be a step in the right direction). Also a bit of nostalgia for us old buggers as the five of us who sat together last night also all stood together on the 'Kop' in '81 when we qualified for Spain ?

    Starting XI v Israel

Arse burns from diving so often ?
