Central America tour

Michael's obviously had a word and giving him an opportunity to see if he's up to it.

I'm surprised there aren't more of the current U21s in there though, to be honest.

What was the story with him?

Am I right in thinking he turned us down previously and it seemed like he had burnt his bridges?

Yeah, played in the unders with us then took the head staggers back in 2015 and decided he wanted to play for England instead. Looks like another Jordan Jones situation where he was young, and made a stupid decision. I hope we get to hear from him on the topic to explain what was going on at the time.

Possibly

a) on paternity leave

c) opening a specialist Wigan pie shop

d) sulking because other players laughed at his Brummie accent

e)  Billy who?

No reason given for Grigg not making the squad

I wasn't expecting Grigg. He has a young child and it's a long trip.

Hopefully McGeehan is 100% on board and not just "trialing" us. Gotta trust Michael on this.

Surprised Hughes is there given his retirement talk but he can't collect caps fast enough now!

Looking forward to Whyte & (more of) Smyth.

Feel for Michael Smith at Hearts not getting a look in with national team despite featuring regularly in SPL.

If Sc**thorpe get into the play-off final, McGeehan will be playing (or at least on the bench) on the Sunday, and our first game is on the Tuesday, so the fact that he's prepared to accept a call-up seems promising

Apparently he's still unsure whether he'll play on with Hearts etc,

Perhaps this tour is a way of keeping him reasonably fit during the close season?

I'd say at his age, it would be very easy to lose fitness over the course of a couple of months.

Beyond that, the squad's a nice combination of youth and experience, though as ever, we're short up front. Would like to have seen Lafferty on tour, so as to keep his fitness sharp, too.

No McGovern? Strange one that, I'd have said.
