not a bad squad, thought Hughes and Ward both injured?

Disappointed Washington has withdrawn always think his pace and work rate troubles opposition defences the most!! Especially away from home when likely we will  have one up top.

Wonder which two will fail to make the final cut?

Hard call (though fitness/injury may decide it for Michael)

Slightly surprised Ward is in there. Wonder what's happening with Washington

Hughes and Ward early favorites. If they're both fit Flanagan and Jones?

We've two tricky away games and Washington as said above is always a good option away from home. Runs the channels well, helps the team get up the pitch. I'd be severely worried that we will start with Laffs and revert to thumping the ball up to him. For his size he isn't as commanding in the air as he should be.

Boyce can't play up top on his own. Ditto Grigg. I'd envisage Magennis will play wide right.

These two games are massive, not only for our Nations League campaign, but for our ranking and impact it could have on what pot we are in for December.

Possibly, though Michael really seems to like Ward, and to value Hughes' experience etc.

As against that, we're not coming down with CB's, where Flanagan could fill in, and both he and Jones are both playing regularly.

Tough call.

Strange one, esp considering he was capable of occupying the bench for Sheff U away to Blackburn last night, coming on for the last couple of minutes:

Perhaps he has some reason for not wanting to be out of the country for 8 or 10 days?

We'll be in either pot 2 (if finishing first or second) or 3 (if last). It's a stretch to think of that difference as massive- although of course we could get say France as our top seed and Italy second. Equally it could be Switzerland again and a fading Iceland

Aye. He'll pick them as long as they're at a club and fit- I was guessing that both will be unfit
