Squad formation v Estonia

Recommended Posts

                      McGovern

            Evans Cathcart Lewis

                     McNair

         Dallas Davis Saville Jones

              Smyth   Grigg

Plenty of pace, solid at the back and Will Grigg to feed off Paul Smyth's runs.

                  McGovern

McNair Evans Cathcart Lewis

 Jones Davis Saville Dallas

            Lafferty Grigg

unsure about GK it could be BPF or McGovern, would prefer 3 at the back would Big G be fit enough or could Flanagan or Ballard play there? if so 2 attacking wing backs Dallas and Lewis, Davis Saville McNair in midfield with Jones having a free role deep midfield joining up with Lafferty & Grigg up front, but MON will unlikely be so attacking?

any of Smyth, McGinn, Magennis and Ferguson to get game time

JEvans, Cathcart, Lewis, Davis, CEvans, Saville and Dallas should all start, I'd almost add McNair and maybe Washington and maybe Magennis to that list. I would be amazed if Smyth or Grigg started, or if it was a real 442, Flanagan could be the surprise starter.

3-5-2 could be the shout here. Big G's legs have gone but he's still a massive set piece threat and it allows Grigg to be partnered up front.

BPF

Cathcart McAuley J.Evans

Dallas Davis C.Evans Saville Lewis

Lafferty Grigg

Think Smyth will start, and would be very surprised if McAuley does.

MON Likes 3-5-2

                         BPF

         McNair  Cathcart   Evans

Dallas  Davis  C Evans  Saville  Lewis

                Lafferty  Grigg

But we play better with 4-3-3

                   BPF

McNair Evans Cathcart Lewis

     Davis  C Evans  Saville

       Dallas Grigg Jones

Front 3 could easily include  Whyte, Lafferty, Smith, McGinn, Magennis, Boyce,

Trying to dig out an eleven who are in some kind of form or playing regularly isn't easy. Especially with us having two games in quick succession.

Mcgovern done really well before for us whilst not playing so I could see MON put faith in him again although it could be BPF.

Don't think McLaughlin has played much football of late and for that reason I see McNair playing right back with J Evans Cathcart and Lewis making up the back four.

No Norwood is a massive blow for us especially with Davis hardly playing this season. Could see Davis being partnered in midfield by Saville and Corry Evans. We'll need a ton of energy from the flanks not sure how fit Dallas is but at least McGinn, Whyte and Smith are playing regularly. Probably go with McGinn right Dallas left with Whyte & Smyth coming off the bench to inject some pace if required.

In attack is where I worry most about us right now. More less all our strikers are out of form. Take your pick from Grigg, Boyce Lafferty to lead the attack, probably in that order...

I know Saville is good, but asking him to play in two positions at the one time is a bit much tbh!

Well done you passed the test and spotted by deliberate mistake to see who was paying attention. Yeah I meant Davis
